Ferry Ride
"I want to go on now! I want to go now!”
"Not right now!" said Dad. "We have to get the ticketstickets first.”
I want to run on the ferry, ferry, but Mum and Dad say we have to walk. Dad, my brotherbrother and I stand by the railingrailing and watch other boats pass. I can see clouds like puffs of steam passingpassing by in the light blue sky. The motormotor is grumblegrumbling noisenoisily, makemaking big white waves. I can feel the strong cold wind messingmessing up my hair, whistlewhistling past the enormousenormous ferry. White seagullsseagulls squawk in the blue sky and I smell the saltysalty sea. The fresh air on my face makes my tummytummy feel better.better. When the ferry goesgoes over a wave, I open my mouth and taste saltysalty spray on my tongue.
"Oh look, there isthere's Devonport!"Devonport!" I say excitedly.excitedly. "I wonderwonder what we arewe're going to do there!"
