  • 1 cup sugar 
  • 1 tsp bakebaking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp white vinegarvinegar

  • 5 tbsps vegetablevegetable oil
  • 1 cup water

Directions

Step 1: PreheatPreheat oven to 180 degreesdegrees C (350 degrees F).

Step 2: Mix first 5 dry ingredientsingredients in a greased 20 centimetrecentimetre  (8 inch) square bakebaking pan.

Step 3: Make 3 depressionsdepressions in dry ingredients - two small, one larger.larger. Pour vinegar in one of the small depressions, vanilla in the other and the vegetable oil in the third larger depression.

Step 4: Pour water over all.

Step 5: Mix well until smooth. 

Step 6: Bake on middlemiddle rack of oven for 35 minutes. Check with toothpicktoothpick to make sure it comes out clean.

Step 7: Cool. Top with your favouritefavourite iceicing.
