Alvin's Christmas Surprise

On Christmas Eve, in Alvin’s house, there was a green Christmas tree in a pot with a sparkly shineshining yellow star on top. It had glitteryglittery gold tinseltinsel wrappedwrapped around the branches.branches. Hanging on the tree were beautiful red and white stripedstriped candy cones. ColourfulColourful flashing lights lit up the dark room like a rainbow,rainbow, while presents in Christmas wrapping paper, tied with ribbons and bows, sat under the tree. On the table beside the Christmas tree there was a plate with a chocolatechocolate chippiechippie biscuit, a glass of hot milk and a big orange carrot.

A dark shadow lay under the table. It was a boy called Alvin,Alvin, hidehiding because he wanted to see who was giving the presents. He was starestaring at the chimney,chimney, which was decorateddecorated with streamers with bells and bunchesbunches of holly. Hooked on the mantelpiece were stockings waiting for Santa to fill.

Ritter combat 300pxSlam! Clatter!Clatter! Alvin could hear strange sounds coming from the top of the roof. Plop! A fat green and red bag slid down the chimney and landed on the hearth (h-ar-th). Bang! Squak! Alvin saw a strange person land on the hearth beside the bag. He stood up, found the sack, started to take out presents and droppeddropped them carefullycarefully into the stockings. He wore a dull silver helmethelmet with a red feather on the very top. The visorvisor was up so that you could see him clearly.clearly. Rather than red cheeks glowing like apples, splodges of green, black and white paint covered his face. He had heavy white eyebrows,eyebrows, a white pointypointy moustache and a puffypuffy beard like popcorn.popcorn.  

The chubbychubby cherrycherry knight’s big fat tummytummy was squeezesqueezing through the gaps in his armour,armour, which squeakedsqueaked as he filled the stockings. On his feet were scuffedscuffed silver pointy boots and on his hands were dirty silver gloves.

Next he walked to the table where the plate of treats were and started crunching the yummy biscuit. Alvin’s mouth was wide open in a giant circle and his eyes were poppingpopping out in shock. He ran screaming to his mum and dad’s bedroom.bedroom.  

The Santa knight climbed quicklyquickly like a spider up the chimney to where the reindeer were waiting for him. Santa hopped in the sleigh and slappedslapped the reins with a hee-haa! They flew through the starrystarry night sky with the soft light from a fuzzyfuzzy crescentcrescent moon.

When they dropped down to Santa’s house at the North Pole, Mrs Claus and the elves were there to meet them.

“I scared a boy, dear!” exclaimedexclaimed Santa. “He was hidehiding under the table and he saw me and screamed!”

“Oh dear,” Mrs Claus murmured.murmured. She thought for a little while and then said, “I’ve got an idea! I will make you a new set of clothes!”

She spent the next few months sitting at the sewing machinemachine (ma-shine), making a new set of sparklysparkly clothes. There was a hat with a long, droopydroopy tail ending in a cloudycloudy white pompom.pompom. The trousers and the jacket of the suit were scarlet,scarlet, trimmed with more cloudy white fur.

Finally they were ready. When Santa saw the new clothes, his face lit up with a big smile. “Thank you, thank you. They look amazing!” he boomed. Then he snatched them and put them on in a hurry.

RRRIIIPPP!!!

Santa had eateneaten too many chocolate chippy biscuits and drunkendrunken too many glassesglasses of milk. His jacket tore like a Christmas cracker!

She needed to sew a new set of clothes all over again and she was fumefuming like a volcano. Next time she would make them much bigger!bigger!

While he was asleep,asleep, she snuck into the room and put the finishedfinished Santa suit on the bed beside him. As she tiptoedtiptoed out of the room, Santa woke up. The first thing he saw were the clothes. He jumped out of bed and started to put them on. He walked to the mirrormirror and looked at himself. He twirled,twirled, then jumped up and down like an excitedexcited rabbit. “I love it!” he screamed. “Mrs Claus! Mrs Claus! Come and see!”

On Christmas Eve, Santa set off on his journey,journey, wearing his new Santa clothes, and didn’t frightenfrighten any more children.
