Category: Slice of Life

"Stop laughing, he ishe's    comecoming," Alex said quietly, quietly, lookinglooking out the classroomclassroom door. I was sittingsitting in the middlemiddle row. Like me, a lot of my classmatesclassmates were sittingsitting in their chairs, not lookinglooking at each other, tryingtrying to think of seriousserious thoughts. Silly kids, whisperingwhispering in the cornercorner of the room, were gigglegiggling and lookinglooking at the seat. I scrunchedscrunched my face up intointo a HalloweenHalloween mask because the chemicalchemical smell of the glue was makemaking me feel a bit sick. Why had nothadn't    he noticednoticed that somethingsomething was goinggoing on yet, I thought, watchingwatching him walk to his seat, as though he was notwasn't    the objectobject of a prank.
