Children Should Not Have Cellphones at School - A mini-speech by Amy
Good morning Room 15. I'm going to tell you about why I think that children should not be allowedallowed to have a cellphone at school. I have never taken a cellphone to school because I know that my Mum and Dad won't let me. Have you ever taken a cellphone to school?
Firstly,Firstly, the phone might get stolen,stolen, lost or broken.broken. The phone is not a toy from the Two Dollar Shop. They are very expensive.expensive. They cost your mum and dad lots of money.
Secondly,Secondly, it might distractdistract children from learning. They could play games on the phone instead of finishingfinishing their work. Lots of other children can be distracteddistracted too because they might want to play. Some people say that they can use the cellphone for another computer but I say that's silly! There're lots of computers in the school.
Thirdly,Thirdly, some naughty children might misusemisuse the cellphone. They could dial 111 or make a prank call.
Lastly,Lastly, they won't learn how to solve their problemsproblems themselves. They might say, "Mum, I forgot my togs!" or "Mum, Cin's being mean!" or even "Mum, I'm sick, come and take me home!"
